Mockdown Corner represents the collected NFL musings of Kenneth Balmer, 60, a refuse collector from the Somerset village of Ditcheat in England. Pretty much nothing of real significance to the wider world happens here, which provided the space for an interest in sport across the Atlantic. It all started after finding a copy of a book called The Hidden Game of Football in the trash of an American serviceman over here 20 years ago. Soon, linear weights became as much a topic of conversation with Mrs Balmer as the dubious ethics of landfill sites.
